Welcome to Santa’s holiday residence at the Golden Gate Cottage! To help make your experience as smooth and magical as possible, please take a moment to review these handy tips before you arrive.
A magical holiday tradition awaits at the Golden Gate Cottage, where the Christmas spirit shines bright in Killarney. Gather your little believers and step inside to share a personal moment with Santa and his hardworking Elves as they prepare for the most wonderful time of the year.
In the cottage, you will visit the crazy elves’ bedroom, and the Christmas Fairy in her parlour before joining Santa in his sitting room where he will be double checking his list before posing for the elf camera.
Parking & Travel - Killarney gets very busy during the festive season! Please check the official Christmas in Killarney Website for up-to-date parking advice and traffic updates before setting off.
Preparation & Buggies - Buggy Park: To make your visit easier and improve interaction throughout the cottage, we kindly ask that standard buggies be left in our designated buggy park.
Accessibility: Specially adapted buggies and mobility units are always fully accommodated inside.
Children will receive a small token from Santa - please note the value is in its magic. Santa's Grotto is non-profit with all proceeds going back into the running of the Christmas in Killarney Festival.
Santa’s Elf Reports - Santa loves knowing a little bit about each child before they meet! Download and print your free Elf Report from the Christmas in Killarney website. Fill it out in advance and hand it to the check-in Elf when you arrive.
Photographs & Memory Making - Personal Photos: Take as many photos and videos as you like throughout your journey! Professional Photos: Official, professional Santa photographs will also be available to purchase.
Accessibility & Inclusive Visits (AsIAm) - Santa and his Elves are proud participants in the AsIAm autism-friendly programme.
Our music is kept low and our lights gentle to create a calm atmosphere.
Please inform the check-in Elf on arrival so we can provide you with an AsIAm lanyard and ensure your family gets any extra time or support needed.
Please arrive 5 minutes before your booked slot and check in with our Doorkeeper Elf in the Woodland Tunnel.
Duration: The experience lasts approximately 20 minutes.
Running to schedule: We do our best to stay on time, but each child reacts differently to the magic! We appreciate your patience and understanding if there is a short delay.
Santa's Grotto is located at Golden Gate Cottage at Killarney House, Killarney National Park, Muckross Road, Killarney V93 X29C
This is just inside the entrance to Killarney National Park at Killarney House gates.
Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

Running Late?
Don't worry, and please don't stress! The Elves understand that things can run behind, either here in Killarney or up at the North Pole (there's always one elf asleep, one who lost their coat, or one missing their dummy!). If you're running late, we will do our absolute best to fit you in as soon as possible.
Pleease note that our pricing is dynamic this year. For instance, weekend slots that are in high demand are slightly more expensive than Thursday and Friday slots.
Bookings are strictly non-changeable and non-refundable
Extra Guests - If an extra family member decides to tag along at the last minute, don't worry! We will do our best to accommodate them.
Additional guest fees can be paid directly to the check-in Elf before entry.
Remember: All proceeds from the grotto go directly toward funding the Christmas in Killarney festival!
